Scholarships

At O'Hara, we aim to keep you and your family updated on all different scholarship opportunities that become available throughout the year! We will periodically update this page as the school year moves along with new potential scholarships that can be applied for, or opportunities to look further into. Here are some great opportunities that you and your family can look into today!
 
 

Merit Scholarship Application

Along with academic scholarships, Cardinal O’Hara offers Merit Scholarships as well! Once you have submitted your child’s application for admission, be sure to fill out the Merit Scholarship application! The following Merit Scholarships can be applied for right from your child’s admissions portal:

Academic Awards

  • Excellence in Mathematics
  • Excellence in Science
  • Excellence in English
  • Excellence in History
  • Excellence in Religion
  • Excellence in Technology

Fine & Preforming Arts Awards

  • Excellence in Art (must submit 3 samples of art work)
  • Excellence in Instrumental Music (please see below for audition requirement)
  • Excellence in Performing Arts (may include vocal, acting or dance; please see below for audition requirement)

Faith & Service Awards

  • Commitment to Community Service
  • Commitment to Leadership
 
All applications require a different essay completed by the student for each individual scholarship you want to apply for. The deadline for the application is Friday, January 8, 2021.
 
Applicants must be related to or recommended by a STM alumnus.
The application deadline is December 31, 2020. 
 
Applications, directions and deadlines are provided directly from the St. James Alumni Association. You must contact them for an application, however, details are not yet up on their website.
 
Administered and awarded by the Ed Snider Youth Hockey Foundation Selection Committee to students participating in the Snider Youth Hockey Program, this scholarship will cover the full or partial cost of tuition and school fees. Books, uniforms, etc., are not covered. The Breakaway Scholarship is renewable each year of high school if the student continues to meet the eligibility requirements.
