Elaine Fitzgerald Wright - Chair

Dear O'Hara Friends and Family,

As we enter the 4th quarter, students will be preparing to create and format newsletters, choose a coorporation to research and create a corporate newsletter, write a cover letter, apply for a job, create a resume, and assemble an employment portfolio.

I am encouraging the students to participate in the free on-line SAT Prep being offered to all O'Hara students.  I have given my students class time to log in, create an account and begin the tests.

It is a wonderful opportunity for students to get an extra half-credit, practice for their SAT's in  May and improve their Math and Language skills.

Please check Grade Connect for missing assignments.

4/23/2013

We have an exciting new year planned for the Business and Technology Department.  We are offering two new courses for this year 2012-2013:

  • Visual Communications which is a graphic arts curriculum being taught on the Macs by Mr. Michael Tickman

  • Sports Management and Medicine being taught by Mr. Algeo in coordination with Science teachers, Mr. Toner and Ms. Camissa-Cantz.

In addition, we have updated our computer lab with Windows 7 and Microsoft Office 2010 in keeping with the industry-standard used in most business today.

If you need to get in touch with me, please email me at ewright@cohs.com.   My new extension is 1601.

Students may make up assignments due to occasional absences upon return to school.  Assignments should be completed at school but may be done at home, as well, if  time is an issue.  Students are expected to ask for missed assignments upon returning to school.  For extended absences, students must make up work outside of class--during lunch, before or after school.

Thank you,

Mrs. Wright
