Campus Ministry

“Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.” Mt 25:40

In Cardinal O’Hara we are interested in the development of the whole student: academically, socially, intellectually, emotionally and spiritually. The Campus Ministry Department complements the mission of the school by offering students opportunities to develop their personal relationship with God and with their neighbors. As Christians we are remembered of Christ’s sermon on the mount: “Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me”; in this way our campus ministry’s motto is “Seek to Serve” and our main objective is to serve others spiritually and materially; not only through prayers and the sacraments, but also through community service.

Campus Ministry Staff:

Fr Ugo Piasentin, Sister Eileen Kean, Fr Bill Chiriaco

Here are some of the activities organized in the ministry Office:

  1. Morning Prayers

    1. Every day before we start school we pray together for the different intentions of our students, staff and community. If you have an intention please send us an email: upiasentin@cohs.com

    2. Our Chapel is also open to prayer. Students may visit Our Lord in the Eucharist during their lunch break.

  2. All School Mass: Every important event in our school is usually accompanied by the Celebration of the Eucharist. It is the center of our Catholic Identity.

  3. Daily Mass: The Sacrifice of the Mass is offered daily at 7:15 am in the chapel. Everyone in the O'Hara community is invited and encouraged to participate.

  • If you have mass intentions please let us know in the Ministry Office

  1. Communion Services: Students have the opportunity to receive the Holy Eucharist during their lunch periods in the chapel.

  2. Penance Services and weekly confession: Four times a year we have penance services for our students and the school minister is available daily for anyone who wants it.

  3. Class Retreats: Retreats are offered once a year for every class. It is an opportunity that students have to renew their relationship with God and deepen their faith. All students are required to attend their class retreat, therefore any student who does not attend his or her annual class retreat will be required to make another retreat during the school year under the direction of the Ministry Office.

  4. Altar Serving and Lector Training: Students interested in helping with school liturgies, should contact the Ministry Office to arrange for training to learn how to be lectors and altar servers in the Eucharistic Celebration

  5. Eucharistic Adoration: twice a year we have special weeks where we offer the students a chance to adore Christ in the Eucharist

  6. Kairos: (for additional information please see Kairos page)

  7. CSC Activities (for additional information please click here)
