Ways to Give

I have had an excellent experience with O’Hara from my own time as a student to my niece’s and nephew’s experiences. I am excited to see how the school continues to evolve and grow and know I am a part of it. I strongly recommend supporting the school!

Peggy Connolly'83

I got involved with EITC over 10 years ago. After hearing and seeing first-hand the impact it has, I would strongly recommend anyone to dive right in. You will be happy you did!

It’s easy to give back to a school when your children have met lifelong friends there, they’ve received a great education, and they have grown in their faith!

The O'Hara Fund

The O'Hara Fund is the cornerstone of giving to Cardinal O'Hara High School. All gifts made to this fund go directly to supporting students. Whether it be through innovations or technology in the classroom, retreats, enhancements to the visual and performing arts, equipment and transportations for the sports teams, new club and community services opportunities, or financial aid, a gift to the O'Hara Fund is your investment in our students.

Memorial Gifts

A gift in memory of someone you love or admire can be a particularly meaningful way to contribute to Cardinal O'Hara High School. A memorial gift may be made to The O'Hara Fund or as a capital gift and may be restricted or unrestricted.

Planned Gift

A planned gift is your legacy contribution to Cardinal O’Hara that will help ensure the future of the school and our Tradition of Excellence and Pride. This type of gift is usually made as part of your estate planning in the form of a bequest in your will. It allows you to make a significant gift without costing you anything in your lifetime, while also lessening the burden of estate taxes on your family.

Making a planned gift is easy and impactful:
  • Talk with your family and your financial planner about your plans to include O’Hara in your will.
  • Make your bequest unrestricted or direct it to a specific purpose at the school (i.e. endowment, scholarship, athletics, the arts).
  • Indicate that you would like either a specific amount or a percentage of your estate to comprise your gift.
  • Tell us about your plans so we can celebrate your generosity now by enrolling you in O’Hara’s planned giving society, The Bishop McFadden Society.

A planned gift is not limited to a bequest in your will. You can also make a planned gift through an IRA or other retirement planning fund, life insurance, stocks and investments, or other financial planning vehicles. Please talk to your financial planner about which approach makes the most sense for you and your family.

For more information on planned giving, or to notify us about your intent to make a planned gift, please contact contact Jody Romano ’83, Director of Institutional Advancement, at jromano@cohs.com or at 610 544-3800 ext. 1881.
Gifts In-Kind
Non-cash gifts of property such as computers, books, scientific equipment, instruments, art materials, etc also make important gifts. The fair market value of such items in deductible for income tax purposes. A formal appraisal is required by the IRS for gifts in kind valued at over $5,000.00.
