Detention Process

Detention

At 10 demerits, a student will serve a detention. The detentions will be held Wednesdays and Fridays from 7 - 7:40 AM and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:30 - 3:10 PM. Additional days may be offered depending on availability.  Failure to report to detention will result in the assignment of 5 demerits and an automatic Saturday/Alternative detention. Students are to report in full dress code for all detentions.

Dress Code Detentions

Dress code detentions will be held on Monday afternoon's from 2:30 - 3:10 PM. Students who receive 2 demerits for dress code violations will serve a dress code detention the following Monday. This detention is in addition to the standard detention procedures.

SATURDAY/ALTERNATIVE AFTER SCHOOL DETENTION

At 20 demerits, a student will serve a scheduled Saturday detention from 9 - 10:30 AM or an alternative after-school detention from 2:30 - 4 PM.  Students will be assessed a $10.00 fee for each detention. 

The alternative detentions are service options. They usually involve preparing for events or assisting with school activities. They are offered only as they become available. 

For all detentions, the students will be required to surrender their electronic devices upon arrival, and they will be returned upon dismissal from the detention.
