Kids Snack Bags

A decorated brown paper bag filled with juice box, granola bar, peanut butter crackers, fruit snacks. Shared with children who eat in soup kitchens

Kids Against Hunger

CSC members gather at the Broomall Center to pack meals to feed the hungry.

CSC volunteers cook and serve breakfast for 80 – residents and families.

Don Guanella & Divine Providence Fun Day

DG/DP address the needs of men and women with intellectual & developmental disabilities.

CSC hosts members of the DG/DP communities in the cafeteria for a day of fun and games with a Halloween Theme.  9:30-11:30

PA Special Olympics at Villanova U.

2 Shifts – 8:30-10:45  OR  10:30 – 12:45

CSC volunteers assist at soccer & volleyball venues.

Philabundance Hunger Relief Center Fieldtrip

7:45-12:00

CSC volunteers sort and package supplemental food items.

Nov. 4 – Nov. 15

Thanksgiving Dinner Program     

Dinners provided for 75+ families

Each CSC member is asked to donate a specific food item(stuffing, gravy, etc.). COHS families generously make a donation to purchase turkey and pies.

Thursday, Nov. 28

“Turkey Dinner at Divine Providence”

          11:30-1:00

CSC members serve a Thanksgiving Dinner to residents.

Nov. 2 – Dec. 13

Spanish Apostolate Christmas Program    

Part of Operation Santa Claus sponsored by CSC. 

          “Feliz Navidad”

CSC members “Adopt A Child” and purchase, wrap, and tag a gift for their child. Gift list provided by parents.

Dec. 2 – Dec. 12

Operation Santa Claus (OSC)

CSC actively participates in OSC. Gifts provided for the Archbishop’s Christmas Party, the Mother’s Home in Darby, Bringing Hope Home, Divine Mercy Parish, St. Philamena Parish. Festive Wrapping Party in the Cafeteria.

O’Hara Family Christmas Mass    5:00 PM

CSC provides O’Hara families a list of childen who are in need of clothing & footware (with names/sizes). Many families who attend the Mass “adopt” a child and provide this “special” gift.

Spanish Apostolate Breakfast with Santa

10:00-12:30 Cafeteria

Each child attending receives a gift from Santa. Attendance is approximately 100 childrer and their parents. DJ provides music.

Goalball Tournament at Overbrook School for the Blind      9:00-12:00  OR  12:00-3:00   Two Shifts

CSC volunteers act as goal judges, line judges, scorekeepers, timers.

Don Guanella & Divine Providence                      New Year’s Party     9:30-11:30 

Members of DG/DP gather in the cafeteria to celebrate the New  Year. Music, dancing, games, door prizes.  DJ.

Souper Bowl of Caring

A national school program to tackle hunger in America that runs in conjunction with the Super Bowl.

Cans of Progresso Hearty Soup & Campbell’s Chunky Soup collected.

Donated to local homeless shelters.

Empty Bowls Program 

Participating students gather in the CSC Office for a “homeless” lunch of soup, granola bar, roll, water. Wednesdays or Fridays in Lent.

Students donate a day’s lunch money - $5.00 -  to feed the homeless, and then enjoy a “homeless” lunch in the CSC Office.

March – Date to be determined.

Students donate candy pack 150 Easter Boxes to be donated to City Team Ministries.

Don Guanella Challenger Whiffle Ball Tournament

          6:00-7:30   Gym

CSC volunteers assist participants with hitting and base running.   Fun Time!
