About Us

Our Vision, Mission & Core Values

OUR VISION

Cardinal O'Hara High School serves as a national Catholic leader in the education, spiritual formation, and leadership development of young people.

OUR MISSION
Cardinal O’Hara High School provides the formation of the whole person through a traditional Catholic education, rich in academic excellence and prepares students intellectually, socially, and spiritually with Jesus Christ at the center of their lives.

Our vision and mission statements provide the foundation for our strategic plan. Having successfully completed over 60 years of providing an exceptional Catholic educational experience for students in Delaware County - and beyond - we now embark on “the next 60 years.” Responding to the ever-changing worlds of education and technology, the economy and the workplace, and meeting the challenge of society increasingly drifting astray from any moral anchor, O’Hara has set a course for providing a formational experience equal to none. Education, spiritual formation and leadership development are the defining elements. Focusing on the individual growth of each student in these three areas, we will stay true to our mission of developing graduates of character, competence and confidence, and to our vision of serving as a national leader as we set the example for others to emulate. Pride, Excellence, Tradition: This is the O’Hara way.

OUR CORE VALUES
We, as a community, believe that:
  • The spiritual development of each student is an essential aspect of our educational program and is vital to the student’s relationship with God, self and others.
  • A co-educational high school provides the opportunity to encourage the development of young men and women of integrity who value diversity and respect all life.
  • Our duty in cooperation with our parents is to instill in our students a life-long love of commitment to learning.
  • A rigorous, dynamic curriculum, in concert with extra-curricular activities, fosters and honors the promise and value of each of our students as a child of God and allows for the development of each as a whole person.
  • Students who serve their community in imitation of Christ are prepared to be the future leaders of society.
  • Strong and fair discipline promote a safe atmosphere of cooperation and respect among the members of the school community, facilitate education and foster moral development.
  • Students who are prepared and confident to engage the global community must have technological skills and an ethical foundation in order to be positive, productive contributors to society.
