This website came in with the dates for SAT  and ACT.  It talks about money for college, scholarship search updated daily and financial aid advice, so I am passing it along to you.  Visit www.fastweb.com.



The Christian Connector

The Christian Connector provides a free Christian college information service as well as a $2500 Christian college scholarship drawing.  Students can simply log onto www.christianconnector.com to request information and be automatically entered into the scholarship drawing.  This free web resource allows students to search for the different types of scholarship that are of interest.



Private Colleges & Universities

When students register at www.privatecolleges.com, they will have the opportunity to explore and request information from thousands of colleges and find over $7 billion in scholarships in our database.  In addition, students who request information will be automatically entered to win a $10,000 scholarship to attend one of our member schools.



Abbott & Fenner

The firm of Abbott & Fenner will award up to $1000 to the winner each year for submitting an essay  on  line  between 500-1000 words on the topic:  What do you see as the long term impact of our current recession on the average family?  How might it affect their future decisions?  Visit the web site http://www.abbottandfenner.com/scholarships.htm.  Deadline is June 19, 2010.



Navy Reserve

The  Navy is offering Navy Reserve Officer Training Corps scholarships worth up to $180,000.  These scholarships are competitive.  They  are accepting applications from students in the top 10% of their class or  with qualifying  SAT  or  ACT scores.  If interested, call  Chief Petty Officer Derek Gloeckl at 412-508-1970 or online at derek.gloeckl@navy.mil.



Nat. Federation of the Blind

This Federation offers 30 National scholarships ranging from $3000 to $12000 and the Fed. of PA  offers 2 scholarships of $1000.  To  apply  for  one  of  the  National  scholarships, go to www.nfb.org/scholarships.  The  deadline is  March  31, 2010.

To  apply  for one  of the  scholarships  in  PA, go  to  www.nfbp.org/students  and  the  deadline  is  August  31, 2010.



Scholarship Quest Helper

This  website was  developed  solely  for  the  purpose  of  helping students locate and  apply  for  scholarships.  Visit  the  website at www.studentawardsearch.com/scholarships.htm  to  read and apply for  scholarships.  Deadline is May 28, 2010.  The amount of scholarship is $1000.  To apply you need to write an essay of less than 1000 words and your submission must be sent to us by email at awards@studentawardsearch.com.

Be sure to include your name and the school you are attending this year and next and also your current academic standing.

The Topic: Describe the three characteristics of leadership you value most. Discuss whether you believe you possess some or all of these qualities, and describe an experience where you developed and /or demonstrated some or all of these traits.



AES Engineers

AES  engineers are awarding a $500  scholarship.  Applicants are not required to be taking Engineering courses to be eligible.  Students must  submit an essay of no more than 1000 words to answer questions that are posted on our web-site www.aesengineers.com/scholarships.php.  Deadline is Oct. 8, 2010.



Wendy's H.S. Heisman Award Program

Eligibility for application is limited exclusively to men & women entering their senior year in 2010-2011 who have a "B" grade average and participate in at least one sport.  The first 41,000 students that complete an application will win a Wendy's Gift Card in amounts ranging from $5 to $50.  Each student must have their online application reviewed and con-firmed online by a school counselor.  Students can register and begin the application process at www.wendysheisman.com.  For a complete Program Timeline, visit  www.wendysheisman.com.



Service Learning in Public Policy

This is a week-long summer residential leadership development program for rising sophomores, juniors and seniors offered by Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge.  The program will take place July 18-23 at our Valley Forge campus.  The students must demonstrate leadership potential, have solid academics,  and  have an interest in service.  See  Sister Helen in the Career Center is you  think you qualify.

For the 2nd year in a row we are partnering with the Phila Archdiocese to make this educational opportunity available to students at Archdiocese High Schools.  Last year the Connelly Foundation and other supporters provided funding for scholarships that allowed 22 Archdiocese students to attend this program.  We were invited to request funding for this year's program.



Colleen Betzal Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship of a minimum amount of $1000 is to be awarded to a student who has shown concern for community through volunteerism.  The student should also be academically worthy and plan to attend an institute of higher learning.  The student must also be a resident of ASTON township or a member of St. Joseph's Parish in ASTON.  Please see Sister Helen in the career center for an application.



John G. Williams Loans

Details and eligibility requirements and forms can be found on the website www.jgwfoundation.org. They  offer  low-interest loans and no funds are required to be repaid while a full time student.  This is a low-interest LOAN  and  not a grant.  There  is  no application fee.

NROTC Scholarship

The NROTC Scholarship is a $160,000 scholarship offered to any AP course student who has a desire for Military service.  This scholarship allows students to attend over 60 colleges & universities in the US, colleges like Penn State, Univ. of Michigan, Carnegie Mellon Univ., Harvard, MIT, Notre Dame and so on.  There is NO service obligation your Freshman year.  Once in the program, students will train one summer with the US Marines and the other summer with the US Navy,and upon graduation students choose to serve as a US Marine or in the Navy.  For application process, please contact Staff Sgt. Widener Univ.

Free summer camp for High School Seniors from July 12-15, 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM.  It includes a free trip to see the Blue Rocks play, start your own business and you keep the profits, have lunch and work in small groups.  RSVP by May 28 and register on line at www.widener.edu/sba/summercamp.  There is a $50.00 deposit, refundable upon completion of the camp.



Univ. of PA

Penn Startalk Intensive Hindi and Urdu Student Programs now are accepting applications for summer 2010 from July 7-27 from 9 AM to 4 PM.Prior knowledge or exposure to these languages is not necessary.   The Hindu program is free, but participants will need to apply for a scholarship.  The cost of the URDU program is $300 per student, but a needs need-based full scholarship is available.  Further information and application forms are available on line at http://pull.xmr3.com/p/3078-577A/51769223/http-www.southasiacenter.upenn.edu-.html.  or call Jody Chavez at 215-898-7475.  The deadline for applications is May 31,2010.
