An Overview: Cardinal O'Hara at a Glance
Since its beginning, Cardinal O'Hara has met the educational needs of families seeking an outstanding education for their children.

We have much to be proud of at Cardinal O'Hara:
  • A 40 year-old tradition of delivering quality education at affordable tuition
  • Nearly 27,000 graduates who are business leaders, doctors, lawyers, government officials, clergy, and, as importantly, husbands, wives and parents
  • An average teacher to student ratio of 1:21
  • 97% of our graduates go on to further their education
  • Our 2004 graduates received over $15 million in scholarships
  • Enrollment is the second largest in the Archdiocese
  • Athletic teams won close to 40 League titles in the new millennium.
  • 52% of our faculty members with Masters Degrees or higher
Even with these blessings, today brings new challenges. Our mission of educating young men and women in the Catholic tradition to become well-informed, productive citizens who will flourish and contribute to our society comes at a high cost.

We Take Pride in the Opportunities We Offer
As our tradition of a rigorous academic program in an individualized and caring environment continues, we fulfill our mission through academic offerings, opportunity for service and the development of special talents, appreciations, and abilities in our co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.

The philosophy and vision of Cardinal O'Hara Catholic High School create a nurturing environment where students can realize their academic, physical and spiritual potential.

Academics at Cardinal O'Hara are a priority. We provide an exceptional academic program that is college preparatory yet we always keep the needs of the individual paramount. We are able to achieve this balance because of our 1:21 teacher to student ratio. This approach creates a positive learning environment that allows our faculty to meet the needs of the individual student. This commitment to both academic excellence and a nurturing environment sets us apart from other educational institutions and has borne great success.

Our graduates have attended some of the country's most outstanding colleges and universities. Additionally, more than $15 million in scholarships were awarded to the class of 2004. Cardinal O'Hara graduates are continuing along a path to success that started right here.

Our faculty is committed to technology as a vital part of the educational process. Twenty-five classrooms are outfitted with computer projection units for Power Point presentations as well as numerous portable and permanent inter-active "SmartBoards."

More than 90% of our students participate in activities outside the classroom. Students may choose from more than 53 sports, interest clubs, academic, social, and religious organizations.

Cardinal O'Hara students also take their social responsibility seriously. The school's Community Service Core (CSC) has close to 600 student members, which makes it the largest CSC group in the Archdiocese. These students participate in a variety of service activities including visiting with young boys at the Don Guanella School as well as women residing at Divine Providence. Our students are also involved in programs such as Habitat for Humanity, Operation Santa Claus and our annual Thanksgiving Drive.

Cardinal O'Hara successfully meets the needs of our students through the dedicated faculty of 98 professional educators, over half of whom have Masters Degrees or higher.
